Hello Chadie, chemical peels can not be performed with hot water, steamer, bed warmer or even a blanket over the client due to induction of heat that can manipulate the scale after the passes. You were given the Sensi Peel because you stated "I have never received a chemical peel ever". Therefore your gauge of skin sensitivity does not apply to chemical peels as you have no history/experience of receiving them. Hence, the first always has to be the beginners level so we can understand how your skin reacts to chemical peels specifically. I also stated since you tolerated all 4 passes well, then the next time you come in, we know how your skin reacts to chemical peels, therefore we can go up in strength. The reason for beginners level peels is because people on the higher fitzpatrick (melanin production) are more likely to burn leaving hyperpigmentation. This is the risk factor we take into consideration. Not all peels make every skin peel. It all varies from person to person depending on numerous factors. Whether you peel, flake or don't have any after effects - the chemical peel treatment is still working, penetrating through the epidermis and rejuvenating the skin. - Thank you
