the bison is smothered in chile pepper so you cannot taste any thing but chile flavor. It gave me and my girlfriend the worst acid indigestion we ever had. we both puked later.

The food is REALLY good and a casual atmosphere. I think almost ALL the dishes are overprices by at least $5.00. Other higher end restaurants charge less for the same dishes. I would go back with the GROUPON ......

We like to go for our Anneversery every year. The different food items available are a nice change from other eateries. The rice wines are wounderful.

This is definitely a hidden gem! The menu includes unique, locally grown selections (I had the bison potroast), and several gluten free items.. Everything was superb - great service, delicious food, and I absolutely recommend Burnin' Down the House for a memorable dessert experience!

Love this place! The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is really cool. They have a great wine, beer and cocktail selection and excellent service. The pork shank is delicious!

The food was very good, though the prices seemed a tad steep for what you got. For example, the Mini Brie Salad was good, but $9.50 for what you got seemed a bit much. Our entrees, the Pork Shank (delicious) and Short Ribs (very good) also seemed just a bit lacking in finesse of presentation for $24 and $27 dollar plates, respectively. The short ribs were moist and tender, but the promised Zinfandel sauce was nearly absent, with only 2 dried cranberries present on the plate and no hint of the wine flavor on the ribs. They tasted more like pot roast. GT is in competition with many other fine restaurants in a similar price point range, with better atmosphere and more attention to detail.

The Grovewood is a Cleveland classic - unpretentious exterior with outdoor seating and knotty pine interior; knowledgeable wait staff; family friendly; excellent and varied menu; wine, mixed drinks, and a nice bottle and draft beer selection.

From Our Editors

Though it isn?t a matchmaking service, Grovewood Tavern is responsible for more than 200 successful relationships in the past decade, all of which were realized over dinner. The brick-enclosed restaurant specializes in the delicious puppy love between food and drink, hosting meals that pair fine wines, beers, and spirits with bites from a globally conscious kitchen. The courses encourage guests to savor combinations in the moment, but also nod to the history inside the glassware. Trivia and origin stories accompany the drinks, detailing their flavors and the favorable reviews they've received. Some dinners benefit from presentation by expert hosts, including vineyard aficionados and people who know how the ghosts are added to each bottle of spirits.

Outside of these showcases, visitors can still enjoy selections from the tavern's regular menu. Lamb burger sliders dispel any worries about stereotypical pub fare, and the entrees' emphasis on local and organic ingredients adds a refreshing ease of conscience to each bite. Grovewood?s catalog of savory meats ranges from Japanese-style barbecued chicken to the bison brisket. Chefs accommodate vegetarians and vegans as well. A wealth of meat- and gluten-free options speckles the menu's pages, and the pairing dinners list substitutions for nonveggie helpings, replacing replacing tea-smoked duck breast with grilled tofu and skirt steak with vegan beef.
