About Northern Star Farm

Since 1927, the Wismer family has owned and operated the historical Northern Star Farm. They've maintained their rich heritage over time, preserving their 220 acre farm from development in perpetuity through the PA Farmland preservation program.

Today, Matthew Wismer and his two daughters, Ashley and Erin, run Northern Star, transforming it from a basic working farm into a family-friendly destination. Families head out to the farm for Fall Fest weekends full of hayrides, corn mazes, pony rides, and cider donuts. When the weather gets colder, couples cozy up under Victorian-era blankets and glide across snow-covered fields in sleighs pulled by two horses decked out in authentic German bells. Bigger sleighs accommodate groups and are pulled by draft horses that have been hitting the free weights.
