About Jeff Allen's Latin and Ballroom Dance

It’s the making of a hit movie. Young Jeff Allen of Providence—untrained in the world of movement, but driven by desire—starts attending social dances. It's there he learns dances such as the jitterbug, cha-cha, and lindy, and develops a taste for competition. Soon, he's winning every dance contest he enters, whether the genre is disco, ballroom, or argentine tango.

Channeling his penchant for victory into a teaching career, the self-taught hoofer transformed into an acclaimed teacher and coach, racking up more than 30 National Dance Council of America Top Teacher Awards, and holding membership credentials with the North American Dance Teachers Association. At his studio, he keeps a packed schedule, teaching west coast swing dancing, Salsa, Bachata, and especially Wedding Dancing! For those who can't make their ways to Cranston, Jeff has written a slew of instructional books and DVDs, including The Complete Idiots' Guide to Ballroom Dancing and The Complete Guide to Slow Dancing.

We loved Jeff's dance lessons. We got a great deal out of the boot camp! We enjoyed it so much that we decided to take lessons to learn a routine for our first dance at our wedding this fall. We also are taking the Bachata Boot Camp this weekend and cannot wait! Highly recommend Jeff Allen's Dance Lessons!

My wife and I took a wedding boot camp lesson and subsequently had 3 months of lessons to get our first dance routine ready. We had never danced before in our lives and Jeff was able to teach us a beautiful routine that had our reception crowd of 90 people on their feet and cheering. It was one of the best parts of our wedding day. Jeff is an outstanding teacher. He has numerous methods and never gives up. He will explain something time and time again in different ways until we understood what we needed to do. He incorporated a lot of anatomy and physiology into his teaching which was very helpful. Apart from learning the dance, Jeff helped us to fall in love with dancing and we are continuing lessons with him to now learn latin dance styles as well. It is a wonderful way for my wife and I to connect and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. To any couple interested in taking up dance lessons or learning a first dance routine I would look no further than Jeff, he can teach anyone from beginner to pro!
