Abbie’s Dog House on Belmont, Dallas

I had a horrible experience here. I was not going out of town - I took my dog to Abby's as a treat since he loves to play with other dogs. When I went to pick my dog up, he acted very withdrawn, would not eat or go outside when I brought him home. I was told that they had taken him to the vet because they tried to trim his nails, and he went berserk. First of all, that was not their place to attempt to do that without my permission. When I went to see the vet the following day to get her opinion on what had happened, she informed me that she had told Abby's that she would not do that without the owner's consent, but that he had acted fine when they brought him in. I was also told that they had brought him in since they were already making the trip to bring in another dog who had been injured in a fight while in their care. I will never take my dog back to Abby's, even though I still have a Groupon for 3 days of daycare.

After hearing so many amazing things about this place, I had to try it. Abbie is not just the name of the sign, she is there in person and great with the dogs! All of the staff is extremely friendly, responsive, and helpful. I love that they post pictures of the dogs all day on their Facebook page, and they even have a "taxi" service if you can't make it to pick up your dog on time. My dog came home exhausted and as happy as can be. Overall, I am thrilled with Abbie's!

Cobe loves it and he comes home so worn out from all the interaction with the other puppies! Really worth it.
