Too many people, too little cheese. Setup was poor i.e. There shouldn't have been lines!

Unfortunately, this was a really bad experience for us, even with a Groupon. We got there around 11am and it was already packed. The problem was there were "lines" you had to wait in to sample the cheese. A line is fine but that combined with the vendor's desire to sell their product meant we each had to wait an undetermined amount of time for the person at the front to move on. Furthermore, once this person finally made to the vendor's table for tasting they would choose to take as much time as reasonably possible to try to enjoy the moment. Moreover, this person had very little incentive to get into another line and wait. (unfortunately no more room here)

Oversold your event for too small a venue. Poorly organized and run!

This was a complete waste of money. The event was oversold, and not well-organized for the number of people who attended. It was not clear if there were several lines, or one really long line. People who had been there in past years had clearly never experienced the lines, and so were cutting in front of people who had been waiting to approach a table; when they were told there was a line, they were angry about being told they were cutting in what was clearly a line. If the organizers want the festival to be big, they should take notes from the Great American Beer Festival. This was a waste of money; we left early and now I am having a big fight with my boyfriend over it. I will not be back.

The event was way over sold. Lines of 40 people or more in order to sample a single cheese. It was ridiculous. We left without sampling even a single cheese. Total ripoff.

Way oversold - it was an absolute zoo, wall-to-wall people by 11:00 and people still streaming in. The cheese and vendors I was able to get to were great, but the crowd was poorly-managed with many standing in never-moving lines and others darting in for cheese and making the line-waiters unhappy. Just not a good experience.

From Our Editors

Expert gourmand Jackie Rebideau has a peculiar passion for cheese. In addition to her recently launched grilled cheese food truck, Mobile Meltz, Jackie teaches pupils about the art of making artisan cheeses such as mozzarella, halloumi, ricotta, and paneer, demonstrating tasteful techniques and dispelling myths that the holes in swiss cheese are formed by mini meteors training for future journeys to the moon. Fromage to Yours also orchestrates special events such as the Colorado Cheese Festival, which more than 150 samples of artisanal American cheese.
