Like many artists, photographer Daniel Berman is constantly inspired by beautiful, mysterious muses—for him, they happen to be a squirrel-crazed pit-bull mix named Shasta and a curious basset hound named Lucy. An animal lover his entire life and a current foster parent of rescued dogs, Daniel strives to capture the unique personalities of his customers’ pets through expressive and occasionally heartwarmingly goofy candid images. Relaxed photo-shoot sessions are held at locations where pets feel most comfortable, be it at home, at a park, or around a backroom poker table.

Though Daniel's subjects are primarily of the four-legged sort, his landscape photos have received recognition from the Smithsonian Castle, which displayed his image “Broken Barn,” and the National Park Service, which selected his "Red Rock Canyon" from more than 10,000 entries in a competition.
