The Groupon purchased was for 4 hours of Christmas fun on a Sunday afternoon. We and our two children were expecting more than what happened. The s'mores, campfire, hayride and feeding the animals took maybe an hour. It was a waste of our money. The hayrides destination was to the main "Bed and Breakfast" building, for a tour. The "tour" was a selling pitch. MD Resort maybe a fine Bed and Breakfast, but for a day outing it was not Christmas fun at all, not worth the money paid and nothing to do for the whole 4 hours, so we left.

$40 for a hayride, cheap snacks, and 3 sales pitches! The whole thing was for them to advertise. They also had nasty coated clothes hangers that you were suppose to make smores on....... it was very disappointing.

The advertisement was for smores and pictures taken to have in your inbox when you got home - no smores for my kids, we weren't told to get the one Ziploc bag per person when signing in - no one took pictures of us with the tree and there is NOTHING to see on the hayride . There is one buffalo, two horses and a mini donkey to feed - totally not what advertised

From Our Editors

When Donna Davis Mixon's family has reunions, they don't mess around; the four- to seven-day-long affairs resemble a summer camp, with campfire cookouts, games, talent shows, and Christmas caroling. Donna and her parents sought to recreate this atmosphere when they founded MD Resort in 1999 on the grounds of a former emu and donkey ranch, where they converted the hay barn into a party house and installed a pool and luxurious main lodge. Now the ranch plays host to getaways and events of all kinds, from weddings to romantic corporate rendezvous. Each of the rustic rooms in the property's three lodges presents a different aesthetic charm, from the elegant four-post bed and jetted garden tub of the Victorian Lace Room to the Old West-style wooden cabinetry and pelt rugs of the Western Vista Suite.

When friends and couples emerge from their rooms, they can while away the time with interactive murder-mystery dinners and a slew of other activities, such as meeting the ranch's animals, gathering pecans, and soaking in the hot tub. The main lodge's game room facilitates friendly competition and shared laughs with its pool table, board games, and tournament-regulation rock-paper-scissors equipment.
