Johnson Estate Winery, Westfield

Since 1961, when Fred Johnson established his family's farm and winemaking odyssey, Johnson Estate Winery has been passed down through the generations. The winery is now owned and operated by the third-generation Fred Johnson and his wife Jennifer. Having refined its approach to European- and French-hybrid style dry wines, dessert wines, and American heirloom wines, Johnson Estate Winery now boasts 13 varieties of grapes grown across 115 acres of vineyards. Pleasing the critics, in 2016 these wines produced by winemaker Jeff Murphy were awarded 12 gold medals. In addition to creating quality wines, the winery also boasts a historic tasting room located in a 1920s-era cold storage facility where guests can try samples and learn about the various wines from knowledgable staff.
