Actual Service was performed by the Sears Automotive in Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Purchased a voucher for road ready. Made an appointment for 4pm. Left vehicle and returned a couple hours later. Vehicle was still on lift and the oil mechanic was changing the oil. First oil filter that was changed was defective, and it needed to be changed again. I Then asked if he had rechecked the oil to make sure it was ok. He stated that he did check the oil and that it was fine. The Air filter was changed. Then when the alignment mechanic checked my vehicle to perform the alignment, he came up with a list of a things that needed to be changed prior to him performing the alignment. I then asked for the manager. I checked my vehicle since it was still on the lift; while I was waiting for the manager. I noticed that it had oil that was leaking from the oil filter, it also had splashed oil on the sides near the filter. I spoke to the manager and stated that my vehicle was here since 4pm and it was almost 8pm and the vehicle was not finished and the alignment mechanic stated that he could not perform the alignment because my tie rods had rust on them and needed to be changed and that my lower ball joints needed to be changed among other things. I then asked to see the manager. I then told the manager that it was a 1998 Navigator that it does have rust, but it is not corroded. I then showed him the oil filter and the oil that was leaking around the oil filter as well as the sides on my vehicle near the oil filter where it had been splashed. Not trusting the oil mechanics work I then asked the manager to please recheck my oil to make sure it was ok. After he showed me the dipstick. I asked him to please wipe it down. He did and when I checked it. I informed him that it was pretty low. The manager checked it himself and then added more oil. He also hand tighten the oil filter and cleaned the oil mess on the vehicle. Manager also had me bring the vehicle back the next afternoon to have his more experience mechanics check the vehicle. The new alignment mechanic stated that I would need to have preventative maintenance on the tie rods and upper ball joint due to one having a tear. He then was able to turn the tie rod to perform the alignment. I was then given a $25.00 gift card on the first day for having to wait so long. When I came back both managers were at the counter and the manager stated that he would refund my alignment. I said thank you. When the manager attempted to complete my transaction he was not able to refund the alignment because I not only paid the balance the day before, but, I had used the groupon voucher and paid for the extra oil and air filter since I had the SUV it cost a little more. After the alignment was finally done. Manager tried to find the amount that I had paid the day before. I informed him that I had purchased a groupon voucher and paid the difference the day before. So I was not able to get a refund for the alignment as he had promised.

NEVER go this place! I had a groupon for an oil change, after 1 hour and a half they told me that they cannot do the oil change because my SUV had an oil leak. I argued that my garage didnt have a stain, went to my mechanic and there was no leak!!!

It took an hour and a half for an engine oil change, and they didn't even come to tell us that the car has been finished twenty minutes ago. No wonder Sears is closing down. Absolutely horrific .

It took almost two hours for a SCHEDULED oil change. On my 2011 F150 the mileage on the computer has to be reset. They did NOT tell me but they did NOT know how to reset the computer so spent an hour trying to do so. In the process they somehow set the governor so the truck was limited to 70 mph. This required me taking it to Ford to get the computer reset. NEVER again will I go to the Gaithersburg, MD Sears auto shop. I will go somewhere else and pay FULL price first.

I had no problem using $44 synthetic oil change Groupon at LakeForest Mall Sears Auto Center. They are very nice and service was done in 2 hours. I only paid $5-6 for taxes and misc charges. I highly recommend this place

Service is very good. Be prepared for super long wait time in the beginning, even if you have appointments. Front desk needs to move faster.
