Killer Shrimp Hermosa Beach
The new restaurant space in the Mermaid is nice (quiet, and comfortable booths), and the service is good. Of course, the shrimp is the best!
I've been coming here since they opened up in Hermosa Beach, since it saves me a trip to Marina Del Rey. The food is always great, and the new ocean view is awesome! I wish they had a breakfast menu like Killer Cafe though.
Service was terrible. They did not check on us to see if we had everything that we needed. The bussers ended up having to bring the missing items. We had to wave down the waitres and bussers. Missing utensils. No plates for apetizers. The mussles, clams and shrimp tacos were good. The calamarie had a texture similar to stale popcorn. I will not be returning.
Service and food are excellent! On windy days it would be nice to have a wind wall and on sunny days it would be nice to have umbrellas.
This restaurant had a great combination of good food and a beautiful location. I enjoyed my trip there.
Very good food and service. Onyia was very personable and funny! If you're planning visiting this place make sure you do within the next couple years..
The food is exactly as we remembered it from the Killer Shrimp Restaurant and it was delicious. Others have mentioned the bar-like atmosphere, and there is that, however, if the weather is nice, you can eat outside. There are also a few booths where you would not be so close to the bar. Unfortunately, we were close to the bar, but it was still fine. The only reason I did not give a 5 is that our waitress was really, really bad. We noticed that she was extremely attentive to two men, but did not even stop by our table to give us water. We had to ask multiple times for water, bread, and our bill. Finally, the manager, Jeff, who is wonderful, got everything for us each time. We did leave a smaller tip than we usually do. This is not enough to deter us from going back, but we will not sit in her section again. The clam chowder is delicious as is the peeled shrimp. Enjoy.
The Food is really good but the atmosphere is not a typical killer shrimp restaurant it was very loud.
Great food, great service. Need to go back asap!

Tips for Visiting
- Take a sip. Killer Shrimp's bartenders shake up creative libations such as the Pieces of Eight—a cocktail that pairs Cruzan aged rum with house-made passion-fruit syrup and pineapple.
- Seriously, check out the outdoor patio. It has a retractable awning located directly on Pier Ave and The Strand providing unobstructed views of the pier and the ocean. The restaurant also features the only public parking lot on Pier Avenue and The Strand.
- Don't forget to dunk. The signature Killer Shrimp dish is best enjoyed with the restaurant's French bread, which can be used to sop up the rich flavors of the accompanying sauce.
