About Lucas Oil Stadium

Since opening in 2008, Lucas Oil Stadium, a massive brick structure that decorates the southwestern segment of downtown Indianapolis, has hosted Super Bowl XLVI, Big Ten Football Championship Games in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and numerous other events. With a first-of-its-kind SuperFrame retractable roof structural system, Lucas Oil Stadium is a multi-purpose facility capable of seating more than 62,000 people. The seven-level stadium, which provides scenic views of the downtown Indianapolis skyline, also boasts 44,000 square feet of exhibit space, two multi-level club lounges and 137 suites. In addition to sampling Lucas Oil Stadium during events that include sporting events, concerts, conventions, trade shows and competitions, visitors can partake of paid one-hour public walking tours offered most weeks throughout the year. Tours generally include visits to the facility’s playing field, an NFL locker room, Lucas Oil Plaza and the press box.
