Large variety of good food, friendly staff, great locale.
We really enjoyed the large variety of taco flavors. There was something for each individual taste. We will definitely be going back!
I liked the taco selection and will return.
Food was overpriced, service was slow, and they charged us a fee to use a Groupon.
Our server Diane was the best!
Good food and decent service.
Super yummy!!! Can't wait to go back
Food gets more stars, but the service was atrocious. I asked our server if they were under staffed and she said "no, we have new help in the kitchen".
Ok I get that, but then why did we have to flag someone down to take our order. Then wait forever to get our chips and salsa. I could keep going, but you get the picture.
We saw others get up and leave.
Everyone's entitled to an off day. Today was THAT day for MoFoCo. I'm sorry, but you get the one star just because and here's why: Ordered my favorite--fish taco and the smoked pork. TWENTY minutes later our food was delivered to the wrong table. OK. I get it. You're busy. I'm hungry. We're even. When I went to bite into my fish taco...I'm thinking where's the fish? It was so small, I had to find it buried under the pile of guacamole and tomatoes. Seriously, if the soft shell was six inches long, the fish covered maybe two inches. Worst portion size EVER. I likened that taco with the one I got from Rock Bottom [which I'll never go back to eat]. But there's more. I absolutely hated to waste my Groupon on the worst dinner ever from that restaurant. Our server, Jackie, was great and apologetic. But the damage was done at least for my meal. My wife on the other hand LOVED her veggie styled tacos. So, there's the silver lining. You guys were one for one this afternoon...but it'll a while before I can trust myself to return.
For the record, MoFoCo is in my top three fish taco restaurants sharing the top spot with Salty Cowboy in Zionsville and Tacos & Tequila in Naples, FL. Everyone else is just mediocre at best except for Rock Bottom [their name says it all regarding their fish tacos].
Hope this helps. Trust your customer instincts. If you're not happy with your meal--tell ownership. They need to know.
From Our Editors
The rotisserie oven at Monon Food Company is kept busy all day, slow-cooking and smoking the slabs of meat that will go into barbecue rib and pulled-pork dishes. Rather than with a deep fryer and hydrogenated oils, the culinary team cooks its health-conscious dishes in extra-virgin olive oil before topping them off with homemade sauces, salsas, and dressings made from in-house recipes. Together, those elements make for the 10-ounce slice of grilled Cajun meatloaf and gourmet tacos topped with ingredients including pesto cream cheese, pineapple-mango salsa, and spiced buffalo chicken. To wash down meals, barkeeps decant more than 60 beers and ales including new releases, limited releases, and pent-up-anger releases from local and national breweries. Feasts unfold in a spacious, hardwood-floored dining room adorned with work from local artists or from a wrap-around porch overlooking the Monon Trail.
