Enjoyed the rink but it would have been nice to have a groomed a little more because it got cut up quite a bit. Nice setting

The ice rink was very poorly kept. There were holes all over the rink. You couldn't skate around without almost falling down every single time. The rink had many cones all over it to mark the "bigger holes", but the conditions continued to deteriorate throughout our visit and there were many, many smaller holes that were not marked.. There was so much slush on top of the ice that getting on and off the rink without holding on to the side was near impossible. It was awful. For $10 a person I expected a lot more. If they are going to continue to keep their "ice rink" in poor condition, they need to charge less. We do not plan on going back.

Employees were not helpful or interested in working. Ice was uneven and impossible to skate on.

We had a great experience and will definitely come back to this quaint, family-oriented ice rink, but I really wish they would clean/smooth the ice during the course of the night, it got pretty rough by 9pm out there. My kids loved it until the ice started getting really choppy, but we will probably come back.

It is small but fun, but was very slushy on a 40 degree day. They had to close early that time. Still a great idea and neighborhood place

The day we went to the rink was a 40 degree day. I assumed that this rink was like others I've been to and they had the means to keep their ice frozen. This wasn't the case and we skated on slush. In my opinion they should have closed the rink a couple hours earlier and/or not accepted our money. I had some very frustrated kids instead of the fun outing I'd hoped for. It was a bust and waste of cash.

From Our Editors

"You can't be common, the common man goes nowhere; you have to be uncommon." So said renowned hockey coach Herb Brooks, and so says the group of business, hockey, and civic professionals who founded KCIce. Their mission is to create an "uncommon community" where local companies can show their support for youth organizations and charities and young hockey players and figure skaters can pay it forward by volunteering their time and talent. The president of the company is four-time Stanley Cup champion and New York Islanders Hall of Famer Ken Morrow, who recently demonstrated what it means to give back. In January 2013, the rink hosted an event in which people could pose for photos with Morrow and his old friend Lord Stanley—the infamous cup. The gathering not only supported their own charitable efforts but also reaped three large barrels of canned goods for Harvesters: the Community Food Network.

As part of their community-mindedness, KCIce brings families and friends together with activities such as outdoor skating, pickup pond hockey, and sand-based volleyball in warmer months. Ice skaters can sit on the ledge of a stone fire pit on chilly evenings, keeping warm with hot chocolate, s’mores, and chilidogs. Strings of orb-like lights help illuminate the rink at night, making the freshly laid skate marks and the droplets of sweat on the hardworking zamboni glisten.
