About Schlitterbahn Waterpark

Guests can travel endlessly around Schlitterbahn Waterpark Kansas City water park without ever leaving the water. This seemingly impossible feat is achievable thanks to a man-made waterway known as the Transportainment River System. Part lazy river, part high-speed thrill ride, the system is actually over one mile of interconnecting rivers, chutes and beaches. A guest might start their trip at the zero-entry shores of Torrent Beach, before encountering the ocean-sized waves of Torrent River. Challenge seekers can also attempt to surf the rapid waves of the Boogie Bahn.

While floating through the more leisurely areas, tubers should take a moment to gaze up at some of the park's towering attractions—including the drops and whitewater of Mighty Mo and the dark ride through a fully-enclosed coiled slide – Black Knight. This tube slide is one of the attractions atop a 42-foot-tall tower. In total, the water park encompasses more than 20 attractions, from the highest of thrills to mini slides for kids, to a swim-up bar for adults.

The lazy river, one of the major attractions, was closed all day but we had already travelled a long way with several friends to come. Some of our group had special needs or were elderly so the lazy river was the reason they came. We were told it was closed because there wasn't enough help. I saw plenty of employees standing around doing nothing or flirting with each other all day. We asked if we could have a discount or voucher or SOMETHING to make up for it. No. Nothing. Not even a free drink. I'll go to Oceans of Fun next summer.

It is way too expensive for the amount of attractions there are. You are better off going to Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun.
