Everything is included when you play at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club. This means the green fee, cart, GPS services, and balls are all covered, as well as occasional surprises such as food specials, clubs, and drink tickets. Access to the amiable and accommodating staff is also part of the golfing package, as guests play their way across scenic zoysia fairways and quick greens at the historic course. Afterwards, players can indulge with a signature cocktail and pizza at the recently opened whiskey lounge, or load up on supplies at the fully stocked pro shop.
Originally designed by renowned Scottish course architect Donald Ross, Hillcrest Golf & Country Club first opened for business on May 27, 1916. The course has been the source of many historic moments in the century since, including the very first Kansas City Open in 1938. As the only remaining Ross-designed course in Kansas City, today's Hillcrest retains many of its classic features, from the challenging first hole to the daunting 620-yard 10th hole. Rolling hills, mature trees, and lush turf remain among the course's characteristics, as does its nonresidential setting rich with local wildlife.
