Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves, North Woodstock

An adventure 300 million years in the making, Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves guides explorers through New Hampshire's Kinsman Notch. The self-guided journey begins with a short walk that descends 300 feet to a viewing platform, where visitors stop to soak in spectacular vistas of the gorge. From there, the site's 1 mile boardwalk snakes through a collection of rock and boulder formations, passing granite walls and breathtaking waterfalls along the way. Guests can choose to bypass the boulder caves by remaining on the boardwalk. As visitors climb out of the gorge, a new forest adventure trail guides them over a covered bridge and deep into the woods, up to the treehouse and birdcage overlook, then back over the gorge on a new suspension bridge.
