Kayaking at Barr Lake was only available on weekends so we picked a time when five of us could meet and scheduled a time slot. The week before, they called and said they were no longer able to accommodate us. They were good about communicating with us to find a new but less convenient time. Although we had fun, the lake was not that exciting to kayak. There were lots of pelicans and carp, but otherwise, we were hoping to see some birds, and they just weren't there. There was so much plant life in the water that you couldn't really get near the shore. I would rate the merchant as 5 stars but the lake as only 3 stars - an average of 4 stars overall.
