Sneakertopia - Pop up Museum, Los Angeles

It's easy to accumulate a closet full of footwear, but sneakers have finagled their way to one of the highest tiers of collectibility thanks to the role they play in hip-hop, sports, pop culture, and more. Sneakertopia, a 15,000-square-foot installation experience, is an ode to this intersectional footprint on culture. In addition to showcasing more than 200 pairs of rare and iconic sneakers at any given time, Sneakertopia spotlights urban artists via storyboard murals and life-size structures.

• The Playground: Foremost an article of function, sneakers have long been choice footwear of athletes both on and off the court. This collection showcases the sports heroes of sneaker history with art by James Haunt, Tyson Park, and more.
• The Festival Room: Murals by Man One, Syndrome Studios, and Lindsay Sochar flank the stages of this area that celebrates the intersection of music and sneaker culture.
• The Dream Room: A memorable mobile-like sculpture by perceptual artist Michael Murphy hangs in this area, morphing between an Air Jordan 1 sneaker and the Jordan Jumpman logo as visitors move around the room.
• The Backlot: Characters of film and video games have donned some of the most iconic sneakers—re: Marty McFly's Nike Mags—and visitors are able to step into these satirical scenes created by McFlyy, Tommi Lim, and Ben Fearnley.
