JC's Burger House - McKinney, McKinney

The origin of JC's Burger House's moniker is fairly straightforward. The string of Dallas burger joints gets its name from its founder, Jay Cockerell. The titles of a few of its menu items, however, are less self-explanatory. They include:

• Bemmy’s Bunless: This burger is named after one of the original Plano location's first patrons, who preferred to skip the buns. It smothers a burger patty in swiss and american cheese, then adds grilled onions, green chilies, and tomatoes.
• Boss’s Chicken Sandwich: Bruce Springsteen hasn't tried this sandwich, but the eatery's founder has. His favorite menu item features grilled chicken breast with swiss cheese, bacon, green chilies, red onions, and ranch.
• ToddZilla: Named after Godzilla and a good friend of the restaurant, PGA Tour champion Todd Hamilton, this triple-meat burger weighs a whopping 1.5 pounds. JC's invites diners to take the ToddZilla Challenge to earn their spot on the wall of winners.
