Dogs bound across the grass chasing myriad toys, tongues hanging to the side. Their human guardian for the day tosses another toy into the air, and the pack of dogs changes direction. This is a regular scene at Lone Star Pet Lodges, where two acres of land provide plenty of space, both indoors and out, for dogs to play. They're supervised by experienced staff members, who have been certified in the Dog Gurus Knowing Dogs Training Program. Overnight guests bunk down in the suite area, designed to look like a small town in a theme park, complete with fire hydrant and barbershop quartet selling funnel cakes. Cats relax in a separate area, and owners can schedule grooming to keep their dogs clean.
