About La Mano Pottery

A pottery studio whose name literally means “the hand” in Spanish, La Mano Pottery beckons its many students of all skill levels to find out what their hands can do when given balls of unformed clay. Inside the friendly confines, experienced ceramic instructors lead their charges toward expressing their own creativity within a large, well-lit space. The staff also runs an in-store gallery of recently shaped pieces.

La Mano wheel pottery intro class was amazing, I actually made something resembling a vase! I would love to join the semester once things open up

I enjoyed learning how to use the Wheel at La Mano Pottery, but I would not consider this to be a two hours hands on class. The first 20-30 minutes was watching the instructor give a tutorial. We used the wheel for about 50 minutes, and our instructor asked us to start cleaning up 40 minutes before the workshop was suppose to end. The cleaning was also very intensive where we had to clean the entire wheel. I wish I knew more about the cleaning process before going into the class and buying the groupon. I feel more confident with my pottery skills after taking this class.

This class was ok. Not all of the pottery wheels worked and the pace of the class didn't make sense. It was really hard to follow or remember all of the steps in the half hour demo in the beginning of class and it would have been more useful for the teacher to demonstrate as the class was moving on. The teacher also ended the class early and had us clean up for half an hour (no joke)- she even told a few folks that their stations weren't clean enough. I wouldn't recommend this course if you are looking for a fun night out- there was too much cleaning for that.

It was an extremely fun and quiet class, the instructor was helpful and involved
