About Swain Resort

Swain Resort, sends skiers and snowboarders racing down 34 trails that snake down the mountainside. The longest trail is a mile long. Others include the tree-lined curving Black Diamond "Last Will" that turns into a blue run named "Testament."

This eclectic mix of trails draw skiers and snowboarders of all different skill levels. While veteran snow-athletes take off solo, newbies can start slow with assorted lessons.

Visitors who prefer to enjoy the slopes from indoors have plenty of places to relax, including cozy local lodges and the Shawmut Grille, known for its gourmet burgers, homemade wing sauces and roaring fireplace.

We had a perfect day of skiing. The folks at Swain were incredibly accommodating. We arrived at 11:00 am not realizing that they didn't open until 1:00 pm. They opened the restaurant and let us have a great relaxing lunch before we skiied. Slopes were great no lines and everything moved so quickly!! It was wonderful.

We had a great time! stayed in one of the adjacent lodges overnight. Very relaxed atmosphere and great conditions, even in the unusually warm weather.

Swain has wonderfully groomed slopes, varied terrain, very nice people both skiing and working there. I guess after 49 years there I am a little prejudiced, but each visit is an example of how to run a ski slope.
