Service was terrible they do NOT respond to making appointments they dony answer voicemails, they don't answer texts or even at their new location you can not relax because the walls only go up so far so you can hear the staff laughing and talking and yelling back and forth. Would NOT recommend this place and in fact i had to contact groupon because of this issue. Groupon was very helpful and accommodating.

I really had a terrible experience at this place. Also, they are not called Velvet Wax any more. I think there was actually another place in the area called Velvet Wax, which caused them to change their name. They are now called Vanity Wax. The staff here was very unprofessional. On their website, it says you can text them for appts. I attempted to do this and I asked them if they had any appts available for a certain day. They just texted back, "no." Upon arrival at the salon, I was early so I asked if I could use the restroom. When I went around the counter I heard one of the girls say something about "a big one." I turned around and there was a ROACH on the wall. I high-tailed it to the bathroom thinking they were going to get rid of it once I was out of view. The pedicure station is in the back, which was only half-working (no massge and no ability to move back so my knees were practically in the girl's face) so I did not return to the front until it was time to get my manicure. When I took my shoes off the girl said, "Wow, you have big feet! What size shoe do you wear?!" I am 5'10" and I wear a size 10 or 11. I have never had that reaction from anyone in my 30 years of life. I was not amused. She also saw fit to point out that I had not shaved my legs and that she didn't like the color I had picked out. The pedicure itself left something to be desired in that she barely did anything. She filed my toenails, pushed the cuticles back, buffed, and put lotion on. No massage at all. Basically it was a polish change, not a pedicure. When she took off my old polish, she used the tiniest little cotton ball and was basically just smearing the old polish around. Maybe because my old polish and new polish colors were similar, she didn't think it was necessary to get all the old polish off? When I went up fron to get my maincure done, again it was pretty much a polish change with the addition of lotion on my hands. She filed my nails so shabbily that they were catching on my clothes all the next day until I went back and filed them myself. Within 24 hours, the polish was coming off in huge chunks. It was almost like the base coat she put on was allergic to my nails. They weren't little chips that are common after a couple days of a manicure. I literally peeled 90% of the polish from my thumb nail off in one strip. For some reason, it felt like there was space between the polish and my nail. Upon taking off all the polish, I could see there was color underneath some of my nails as well. She attempted to fix the areas where she got polish on the surrounding skin, but she ended up just smearing the polish around my cuticle. She also got a blob of clear polish on my finger and left it there for me to peel off later. And the worst part was, that while my nails were drying in front of a tiny desk fan, I looked up and THE ROACH WAS STILL THERE. At that point I just wanted to run out of there. I called to the girl and told her i was ready to go. The owner, I assume, took care of me at the counter and I asked her how much a manicure and pedicure normally was so I knew how much to tip. She told me, "People normally tip $8-12." Which was NOT what I asked. Finally she told me a normal mani/pedi was $65. For a glorified polish change??? I don't think so. Also, I saw later on the groupon that it said their normal price was $60. Not that that's any better for what they're passing off as a mani/pedi. I would not return to this place ever, even if it were free.

The place was a dump the people were not friendly and the nail tech was horrible. The service was not even worth the discounted $19 paid. Worst Groupon experience ever..
