About 943 Philadelphia

Nestled in the Italian Market, 943 introduce customers to the tastes of Italian-Argentine cuisine.

The chefs here make their own al dente pappardelle noodles, create sauces from fresh vegetables, and grill up morsels of steak, octopus, roasted pepper, and sausage. Like the traffic tunnel that runs underneath the Atlantic Ocean, the menu unites South American and European cultures, with spicy chimichurri and savory gaucho-style steaks sharing table space with homemade ravioli and prosciutto sandwiches. Filets of lightly battered hake fish mingle with mushroom, lemon, and capers, while skirt steaks, seafood, and grilled sweetbreads sidle up to servings of duckfat fingerlings, fennel, and Swiss chard.

While the food was delicious and the service excellent, the portions were so small. I had to make my self a sandwich when I got home because I was so hungry. Overpriced as well.

They only had two girls hosting, serving, food running, and busing so the service was especially slow - I wait half an hour to be seated while there were four tables open. The chef kept ringing this bell to have one of the servers come back and actually YELLING at her repeatedly. It made me hate him, but leave her a good tip. She provided the best service possible given her impossible manager and limited staff. Chef - you were a real jerk. You shouldn't treat employees like that in front of your team, let along in front of your customers. Food was good. I would suggest this place to eat, but certainly not to work at.

They only take cash but had no change so I had to wait and notice that they had to go across the street. The chairs are terrible I thought I was going to break it. Menu needs more variety and more food for what you pay. I ordered a steak with fingerling potatoes but only got one fingerling potato and a half, and I am big man so this was horrible. Inverselly, my wife ordered the russian salad and it had way too much potatoes! more greens woudl have been nice. taste wise it was ok. Steak was overcooked.
