It has really gone down hill over the years. Still a beautiful ambiance. Very disappointed about tea this time. The scones were miniature and had no taste. They used to be full size scones, these were bland and the size of a golf ball. Even the macaroons were smaller than a normal size! I think our server was in training, because it took a very long time and she never came back to check on us. I had to look for her to get the check after an hour and thirty minutes.

Wonderful, relaxing and yummy experience! The tea, food and ambience were all great; it was very filling ..., the cheese, marmalade/jam and blueberry scone were especially fabulous! Not everyone likes coffee so we woukdvpreferred to not have a coffee flavored macaroon and the service was slow. Had we been in a hurry, it would’ve bothered me. Overall experience, definitely a 5!!!

The William Penn is a lovely setting and brings back fond memories of Christmas past. We were seated promptly and our server was very knowledgeable about the tea offerings. Food was very good and served as two courses savory and sweet) rather than together, which was nice. Our only disappointment was the tea or lack of quantity. It is a leisurely service and we had to ask for more tea. It is served in a small pot, one for each guest. When I asked for more tea, only water was put in the pot, no additional tea, which made for a very weak pot. Seeing this, my husband ask for additional loose tea. The server used the same pot and added additional teas on top of the old leaves, which just made a mess to try and strain. We would go back again, but now know that we need to be very explicit when asking for our tea.
