Steve gave great information. Learned the basics of the Roll Cast, Backhand Cast, and Shooting. We then learned a really easy way to tie the Nail Knot, used to tie the fly line to the backing. Also used a variation of the Nail Knot to tie a fly to the Tippet (i.e. fishing line). I did find the fly casting much harder than I thought and I will need to learn and practice more. Trying to learn to cast on my own doesn't seem to be a good idea - really need to learn from someone that knows how to teach (which often isn't your Fly Fishing friend). The class was well worth it.
