About Starz Cupcakes

Lisa Brighton baked her first treat—a peach cobbler—when she was just 4 years old. She had some help, of course, from her great-grandmother, Hazel, who taught her which spices to use and which spices to throw over her shoulder. Hazel also handed down several generations of family recipes and a passion for baking that’s been in the family genes for more than 100 years. Lisa puts it to good use at Starz Cupcakes, which she co-owns with her daughter Connie.

Lisa and Connie estimate that they make 220 different kinds of cupcakes, including 17 velvets—a new take on the classic red velvet—in ultra-bright colors such as coral, teal, and purple. They also bake gluten-free cupcakes for customers with gluten allergies, and sugar-free versions for sweets lovers on low-sugar diets. And the tiny cakes are as beautiful as they are delicious; each one is topped with a dollop of frosting and decorative trimmings such as sprinkles, chocolate chips, or coconut flakes.

Yummy!!!!! Staff was helpful, made thoughtful suggestions. I had been there before, searching for dessert for a post baby meal. The couple had an older child with food allergies. Don't remember who helped me, but she put a character ring with the cupcake. Most appreciated.

I got this coupon to sample for my daughter's wedding. We were disappointed and went with another bakery. They've gone downhill since the first time I tried them. The cake itself was very dry...no filling to help with the dryness. I had to go to their main store because they hardly had any choices left. The main store's cupcakes had gnats or fruit flies all over them...so I had to go back to the other one and choose from the small selection they had. They are not very good...and will not go back again.

The cupcakes are very attractive but, they are (were} very dry and not that tasty except for the frosting. $3.50 is much too expensive for this product-------plus, the day I went the selection was very sparse. A future customer, I am not.
