Well, let me start off by saying I only redeemed one of my three private lessons from the 2-person package and so far I am not impressed. The place presents as quite disorganized with emailing and text messaging but I will say that they try hard to accommodate their customers. Which is why I was disappointed that the lesson was only 20 minutes…yes you read that right, TWENTY minutes. Not sure how many of y’all are super speedy learners but I’m certain that not even intermediate dancers can pick things up that quickly. At first, I thought they’d be hour long lessons but when we arrived, signs said “40 minute lessons” which seemed totally fine. But TWENTY minutes? Seemed like a rush job to me. Moving passed that… the instructor, never even introduced himself but he seemed to “look” the part (classy outfit, appropriate dancing shoes, in dancer shape, etc.) but he seemed pretty ready for us to leave when we first walked through the door. I will say, he did try to make conversation but it was just forced and awkward. So the “lesson” played out like this: 5 minute “warm up” which was us just side-stepping and making awkward eye-contact in the mirror (cringe) 5 minute fox-trot (we picked this one and he picked the other two) 5 minute rumba 5 minute swing Cool beans. 5 minutes and we’re supposed to feel like we’ve got it down. Anywho, if that’s the “beginner” experience you’re looking for, have at it! But I’ve taken classes in other states that were tailored to beginners and they were longer and I actually felt like I walked away with something. It hasn’t been worth the $95 for me so far but they’ve got a few more attempts at convincing me. I wouldn’t book again, but for not being a party pooper, we had an okay time. Good luck, y’all!
