BRING PLENTY OF MONEY...EACH TICKET COST $2.50 NO BREAK IF YOU BUY $100.00 WORTH OR $10.00 WORTH. MANY OF THE RIDE ARE AT LEAST 2 TICKETS (THAT"S $5.00) AND SOME OF THE REALLY FUN RIDES COST $10.00 TO GO ON...SO BRING LOT'S OF MONEY! NOW INSIDE THERE ARE MANY FREE ACTIVITIES TO ENJOY, SO IF YOUR LOW ON CASH YOU WILL HAVE FUN INSIDE! SO ALL AROUND IT IS A FUN PLACE TO HANG WITH THE KIDS. THE B.Q. FOOD WAS THE BEST..THE PULL-PORK..YUMMY!! YES I WILL GO NEXT YEAR BUT HOPEFULLY THEY WILL HAVE A BREAK IN THE TICKET PRICES.

Admission should be free if all the exhibitors are there to sell products and services. Plus you charge for most of the rides and activities. Not to mention $10 to park. I felt ripped off.

Any kids activities worth doing cost $5 to $10 for each ride. This sets up disappointment when parents turn down the kids due to overpriced rides.

There were two lines.. One line to purchase and a will call line where they were letting people in... I stood in the will call line to be told that I needed to go over there.... The other end of the table where yet another line had formed... I stood in that line got our wristbands etc then was told to stand in the will call line yet again to be let in.... Very very very disorganized! Then while inside people selling $1 cake pops jumped in our faces every few mins trying to get us to purchase from them... Literally out of nowhere in our faces.... Finally, my friends 2yr old disappeared on us and they had nothing in place for a lost child.... Seriously , at a kids event they had no idea what to do to help us.... We finally found her.... Thank goodness!

Way overpriced, lame attractions, very slow lines. Mostly an event trying to sell you something with few attractions, all of which were way beyond overpriced: all the rides were at least $5, some were $7.50 and others even more. Even the sodas were overpriced - $4.75 for a pepsi? This will be a never go back to event.

The event was ok. Groupons deal was ok....however the additional activities were so very expensive! Free for the kids but be prepared to drop $100 for the fun activities outside. Ugh. I'll skip next year.

From Our Editors

Children tucked inside giant plastic hamster balls giggle as they roll across the water. Meanwhile, teens fly down zip-lines and face each other in paintball matches. You'll find all this and more at the sprawling San Diego Kids Expo & Fair on the Del Mar Fairgrounds. In keeping with the event's mission to highlight local kid-friendly businesses, many of these activities are organized by area merchants. Military-grade laser tag games and a rock-climbing wall, among other attractions, beckon visitors of all ages to lose themselves in child-like wonder and the hope that maybe the lawn will eventually just mow itself.

Besides activities, the expo hall houses about 150 exhibitors. In rows of booths, dance teachers, soccer coaches, and local chefs each discuss their craft. The focus on childhood health and education also extends to four performance stages, which become stomping grounds for martial-arts demonstrations and kid-friendly musical acts. Through this twice-a-year celebration, the expo aims to raise awareness (and funds) for local music and arts programs.
