I would give this place a try even if you're hesitant, everyone is very friendly and you don't ever feel like you're way behind. The instructer does a very good job of pairing you up with people of your same skill level. The classes are only and hour long but I promise you you'll be sweating by the end of it. So give this place a try you won't regret it!

I bought the groupon for my son to start a basic martial arts training routine. They informed me when I was using it that the groupon doesn't work for kids (even though there was no indication of this on the sales page) but that they would do me a favor and take it anyway in exchange for 30 days of training (which normally costs $20... the groupon cost me $25... ugh). I agreed anyway and my son started his training. Having never fought or trained before, he was pitted against another kid in a takedown match on day 1. He didn't know how to fall, how to protect himself, or how to "attack". I see kids getting minor injuries on a weekly basis (which often nets them a higher rank "for being so tough.") Training typically consists of stretches, running around to play tag, playing dodgeball, squats, jumping jacks, and maybe up to 1 "move" per day. The 1 move is demonstrated twice and then the kids use it against other kids for about 3 minutes, then more tag and running around. This is nothing like an organized class with clear training goals, safety, and qualified instructors that I expected. We'll stick it out for the 30 days and then look elsewhere for a more rigid training dojo.
