Although Ivoire Market's origin in 1994 was as a record store, the shop's evolution into a fully-fledged restaurant and specialty grocery has been a welcome one. It's shelves are stocked with West African staples and the friendly staff whip up traditional recipes from the Ivory Coast with ease. Every day, they serve steaming bowls of Egusi, a traditional stew thickened with ground egusi seeds that impart rich and nutty flavor, plates of joloff rice, and fall-off-the-bone cuts of jerk chicken and lamb.
