Maison Martinique Restaurant, Vero Beach

Excellent food and service. Quaint restaurant with much ambiance. Will go back soon.

It was a great location...near the beach, but not right on the beach and a beautiful old building. We sat outside and it was a nice atmosphere with water gurgling in the background and relaxing music playing.The service was OK..but the waitress we had kept forgetting everything we asked for...water, glasses, ice, etc..They only had 1 bottle of sparkling water in the entire restaurant...They should have been better prepared on a Sat night, & our reservation was at 6 pm. Started out with a Bruschetta special with goat cheese for an appetizer. Excellent! although they do not provide nearly enough bruschetta bread for the amount of goat cheese, so we ordered more of the table bread which was very good. I ordered the Sea Bass special & it was very good except slightly overcooked...(not good for fish) at $40. The other entre we tried was the Shrimp & Scallops pasta dish which was very disappointing. The Scallops were good, but the shrimp was again OVERCOOKED! and the sauce was very ordinary...tasted like it came from a jar..and the price $38 What? Seriously..? I can make a much BETTER TASTING pasta dish with the same ingredients at home for about $10-$12 and it won't be overcooked. We skipped the desert as we were not impressed with the dinner. For Groupon customers they have an automatic 20% gratuity which is fine if the service was good.(It was not). Honestly, whoever owns this restaurant should really find a good chef and order some matching glasses etc.. for the restaurant and hire some better wait staff. The ambiance is charming enough, but with overpriced & overcooked food, I don't recommend this place to anyone...Skip it..Just an honest opinion.

Excellent food and service!

The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. Our server Deborah was extremely knowledge about the menu and wine list. We never felt rushed even as the restaurant became very busy the evening we were there, it made us feel we had the table all evening if we chose. We sat outside on the patio and the evening was relaxing and enjoyable. Maison Martinique is now on our short list of fine dining establishments to celebrate special occasions and life in general. Well done!
