I placed a To Go deli order 48 hours (Tuesday) before I needed it, just like the guy told me to do. I asked for an order of HOT spaetzle and HOT German Potato Salad for pick-up at 4:30pm on Thursday. The next day I received a phone call from a woman asking me what time I was going to pick up my order on Thursday. I was unable to call her back that day, so I called back first thing Thursday morning and spoke to the guy I initially placed the order with and told him all the details I had given him when I placed the order. Then, about 2 hours later, I received another call from him, asking me what time I wanted to pick up the order and if I wanted it hot. I told him this was the 3rd or 4th time I had told him this same information, but I gave it to him again. When I went to pick up my order, the woman that I guess left me the message on Wednesday, once I told her my name, says to me first thing out of her mouth, "I left you a message yesterday," in a grumpy, rude tone, assuming I guess that I had not returned her call. I said I returned her call that morning. On top of all of this building frustration, when I physically picked up my food, all of my food was COLD!!!! I told her that I had asked for it to be HOT 3 times, 2 of which were earlier that day. Her only response was, "Well, you didn't talk to me." UNBELIVEABLE!!!! Had I known it would be cold, I would've picked it up earlier in the day, not at the last minute when I was getting ready to serve it when I got home!!! And, if I had known what awful service I would get, I would've just made my own recipe which tastes just as good, if not better, and saved myself the time and effort of packing up my 5 children driving to this place, and patronizing them. This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner for my husband, but the whole thing was a MAJOR disappointment!!! I will DEFINITELY NOT be returning to The German Pantry!!!
