Smithsonian’s IMAX Theaters, Washington

People often talk about seeing movies on the "big screen," but that term doesn't do justice to the three Smithsonian's IMAX screens. They're big and then some, up to six stories tall to be exact. The theaters, located at the National Museum of Natural History, the National Air and Space Museum, and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, complement museum-going experiences with educational films. These might whisk audiences into the world of dinosaurs, introduce them to microscopic creatures, or take them on a journey through space. Regardless of the film, the theaters provide an immersive movie experience.
