Cooking Classes by Classpop!, Itasca

The teacher was awesome, we were a little cramped where they put us, that was not the painters fault though just how the place set it at. It was at a distillery so that was neat. Had a great drink!

We did the Lebanese cooking class at Mijana. I had never been there and the Groupon offered an excuse to try a locally owned place. They did not disappoint. The owner had great stories of the food and culture. I was sad as I thought this was a hands-on cooking class. It was more of a watch them make your lunch event. One thing we noticed is that they always started to serve what they made at the same spot on the same table. We were last so they ran out with each dish and we got food made by the kitchen which, according to the people at the other end of the table, was distinctly different. The cooking event was a 3/5 but the experience, as a whole, was 4/5.

The class is very informative as to how to mix and match different sense together. The other other thing I bought it liked to know is the type quality of candle wax that we were using.

Clear instructions on how to make pasta and easy to duplicate later. Food was good. Chef Malik went above and beyond to elevate our pasta tasting experience. I was expecting a kitchen to cook in not dining tables. Chef was late. Small class size. Sanitary practices were not as food safe as I expected but precautions were taken. Was expecting to use a pasta making machine but glad we didn’t.
