The two-hour Cocoa 101 class takes place in Metuchen on Wednesdays at 7pm and East Brunswick on Thursdays at 7pm. Students learn about the history of chocolate and how to properly taste it, along with sampling a variety of caramel & ganache. They then sample chocolates from around the world and pair them with wine, cider, and port, and also roll their own truffles to take home.
The 90-minute painting class takes place in East Brunswick on Tuesday Oct 25, Dec 13 and in Metuchen on Tuesday Nov 8, Jan 10. Students paint on a chocolate canvas with chocolate paint while learning about cider, wine & port that’s perfectly paired with chocolate.

About 2 Chicks with Chocolate
After a debilitating car accident left Elyissia Chinchilla’s mother, Barbara, unable to commute to work, she stayed busy in the kitchen, devising her own homemade chocolates. Nine-year-old Elyissia would then load her mother’s sweets into a shopping cart and sell them door-to-door around the neighborhood, learning entrepreneurial skills that would last a lifetime. After leaving a telecom job as an adult, Elyissia returned to selling chocolates by founding 2 Chicks with Chocolate (the other chick being her mom), teaming up with a master chocolatier and lead chocolatier. The dessert innovators create diverse flavors, such as spiced pear and caramel ganache, s’mores, and hazelnut praline, from scratch with spices and sea salt. The store also hosts chocolate classes and enlivens parties with chocolate fountains and chocolate tastings.
