Larry Gaian of TheBBQGrail.com and Big Al from AJ's Casual Eatery combine their grilling expertise to enlighten students on the intricacies of barbecuing, seasoning, and beer tasting. Held inside the eatery, the bonanza teaches students' tongues to explain the differences between smoking and grilling, rubs and marinades, and right and wrong during a two-hour, mouths-on event that includes all the necessary meats. Future grillmasters garner the knowledge necessary to compare Memphis and Louisiana sauces and determine whether a slab of tender meat was cooked with charcoal or gas. To slake thirst, students sample a variety of beers, carefully searching for an ideal barbecue and beer coupling. Classes are limited to 15 people per session; check the events page to reserve a spot.
