I really enjoyede the class and the teacher. Andrew really cared about what he taught and was very enthusiastic about photography. He has experience and was very available to students who wanted critiques or support.
I LOVED this class. Andrew Shapiro was fantastic, articulate and informative. I will take further sessions as they are available. I truly hope that this groupon did for ASOP what they hoped it would, it was a big gamble to discount the sessions, but the classes really sell themselves going forward. If you want to know anything or everything about photography go to ASOP!
I would not have known about this school had it not been for the groupon. as a newcomer to photography and Austin they complimented each other well.
Very good course to learn the basics of photography. The course schedule is geared towards working people and is very flexible regarding make-up opportunities if you miss a class for any reason. The course is very fast paced to cover a lot of material in just six sessions but the time is well managed by a very pleasant and knowledgeable Instructor.

Austin School of Photography
For the instructors at Austin School of Photography, great shots arise not from an attempt to emulate a certain style, but from an intimate knowledge of camera mechanics. The mandate "Know Your Camera," emblazoned across the bottom of the school’s website, serves as a guiding principle of its classes and seminars, which aim to help good technique become second nature for students. Two introductory photo courses create a starting point before students take on more advanced offerings, such as studio-lighting strategies, documentary photography, and pantomime-horse portraiture.
