To strength coach Jon Chacon, the first order of business with any client is building a sturdy foundation of strength. His strength boot camp incorporates both strength training and conditioning with bursts of high-intensity exercise. Pared-down workouts in a spartan facility use tools, such as kettlebells, barbells, and sleds, that emphasize agility and functional strength—values familiar to Chacon, whose experience ranges from commercial fishing to the Marine Corps.
