Rock climbing is a challenging, yet fun activity, far overshadowing its more outrageous predecessors of pebble punching and boulder dashing. Test the limits with today's Groupon: for $12, you get an all-day climbing pass and equipment rental (up to a $25 value) at Climb Upstate in Spartanburg.

Climb Upstate sates rock-centric athletes of all skill levels with its indoor climbing and bouldering facility. Climbers will be outfitted with a belay device, harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and a chalk bag, ensuring they are properly outfitted for clambering up Climb Upstate's grippable monoliths and bouldering obstacles, including a 30-foot long, 45-degree lean back. Bulk up biceps with a shimmy up the slab wall, or dangle with the dexterity of rock-climbing modifier with a challenging roof climb. Exhausted adventurers can let muscles recharge with a quick rest in the loft lounge, which features inspirational and educational climbing DVDs to rev up minds and climbing engines. Serious scalers can also use this Groupon toward belay certification.

Climb Upstate

The altitude fiends at Climb Upstate envision an alternative to a standard gym, where climbers of all skill levels can get fit and practice their vertical vernacular in their architect-designed indoor facility, which offers both monthly memberships and day rates. Climbers clamber through a simulated cave while perfecting their mole-people dialect or emulate a bouldering adventure on more than 100 feet of continuous scaling space. Numerous routes designed for every ability take advantage of the facility’s ample lean-back walls, 35 feet of roof climbing, and top-rope stations, two of which stretch all the way to the ceiling. Between ascents, guests may relax in the party space and catch screenings of climbing movies on a 42-inch flat-screen or dust off their chalky hands for a round of table tennis on the facility's ping-pong table.

Customer Reviews

Great place for a fun workout! The staff is so friendly!

It's a cool place for anyone to hang out, from beginners to experienced climbers. Staff was really friendly and patient while explaining how to set up ropes and hooks (I had no idea about that so I asked many questions!), and they also made sure we were doing well by going around the place and checking on us. We'll definitely come back!!

This was our 2nd visit to Upstate climb. We had a great time both trips, first just my husband and I and second time with the kids. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the building is clean and cool. We will be back!
