You won't find any elliptical machines or basketball courts inside CrossFit Southwest. Instead, the gym outfits its floor with barbells and weighted plates, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, and plyometric boxes to whip bodies into shape. The CrossFit workout consists of functional fitness exercises—such as squats and deadlifts—that the trainers can easily tailor by tweaking resistance and reps to ensure each individual remains challenged. In addition to leading CrossFit workouts, the trainers also work with members one-on-one during personal training sessions that focus on specific goals such as improving flexibility, building strength, and developing x-ray vision.
