Basically, you buy the Groupon, and then using a pdf file they have and an online progress tracker, you solve the puzzle and complete the quest. Pros: the puzzles were a good mix of quick-solve and serious thinking. My youngtest daugher read the journal pages aloud and then the rest of us worked the puzzles. Cons: There are many typos and grammatical errors in the package which are distracting. They want you to print out the documents and there are many and use a lot o color inlk. And unless you have VERY good print quality (almost high-def photo quality), some of the clues you need to solve the puzzles are hardly readable. Better to print and then refer to the pdf document for a better image. Remember to cut the pieces out like it says. If you leave them uncut and go with them as printed, they won' work as well. Overall, we liked this and are actually on Groupon tonight looking for similar at-home puzzle packages like this one. :)

Pretty interesting but not as difficult as we would like

We were pleasantly surprised by the challenge we faced on certain levels! It is definitely worth the purchase for a night of family fun... kids younger than 8 won’t be able to participate much unfortunately but 8-adult its a great time for sure!

Room wasn’t decorated in any theme. Very plain room with several puzzles. Puzzles were challenging. We did manage to escape at the last minute.
