What You'll Get
Small plates bested other food-delivery systems for eclectic dining adventures, including model trains loaded with multiple courses of cargo and miniature Tilt-A-Whirls filled with various soups. Celebrate crockery's survival of the fittest with today's Groupon: for $65, you get a three-course dinner for two at fork & vine in Glen Head (up to a $132 value). The three courses include:
- Any two soups, cheeses, salads, small chilled plates, or small hot plates (up to a $16 value each)
- Any two entrees (up to a $38 value each)
- Any two desserts or dessert cheeses (up to a $12 value each)
Chef and owner Stuart Brown infuses distinct, bold flavors into a variety of tapas-style plates as well as larger dishes of pasta, fish, and meats in an upscale, contemporary dining atmosphere. Pairs of adventurous diners begin the three-course meal with starters from the dinner menu, including soups such as the chilled gazpacho finished with fresh lobster and crabmeat, or small hot plates such as crisp spring rolls unexpectedly stuffed philly cheesesteak–style, boasting a housemade cheez whiz lusciously creamy enough to prompt many diners to send their compliments to the Cheez Wizard himself. The entree course includes hearty plates such as grilled Australian lamb chops with goat-cheese mashed potatoes, baby bok choy, and a roasted-garlic-rosemary jus, helping guests make beautiful fork tine music together. The dessert menu leaves paired patrons' palates singing the praises of the chocolate and flour in the Truly Decadent chocolate waffles, with cold espresso ice cream and whipped cream melting in the arms of warm bittersweet chocolate waffles infused with chocolate chips and smothered in a bananas-foster sauce, ensuring a final course divinely saccharine enough to power an entire hummingbird colony for six months.
Though not included with today's deal, fork & vine boasts an extensive wine list populated with more than 150 bottles, elegant sips from which can be enjoyed while letting eyes roam over the restaurant's deep red walls, tile floors, and grandiose dried floral arrangement rising to the ceiling above the bar. Semi-al-fresco dining in the tented garden area provides an ambiance romantic enough to inspire at least five couples to meet and wed as a result of meeting on the premises. Music lovers flock to the establishment for Live Music Wednesdays, which replace mid-week blues with augmented seventh chords.
