About Haggin Oaks
Scanning Haggin Oaks guest list back to the club's opening in '32, one can locate legendary golf names such as Walter Hagen, Sam Sneed, and Ben Hogan, who took home his first professional winnings from Haggin' Oaks in 1938. The list goes on and features Hollywood heavyweights to the likes of Bing Crosby, Babe Ruth, and Bob Hope. The club's trophy case also showcases a glimpse of golf history, beginning with the Golf Professional of the Year award in 1963. Trophies multiplied by the dozens over the next 50 years, right up to the 2013 Top 10 Golf Shop distinction granted by the Association of Golf Merchandisers.
Players today walk the same grounds as the legends of yesteryear, traversing verdant pastureland among the same heritage oak trees that line the labyrinth of fairways. Players can choose between two 18-hole courses: Alister McKenzie, the complex's marquee course designed by the famed architect of Augusta National, and Arcade Creek, a more beginner-friendly layout that fills its water hazards with free pinball arcade machines. To help shave off strokes on either course, golfers can enlist the help of more than 15 professional instructors at the teaching facility, or engage in self-improvement on the 100-stall driving range, open 24 hours a day during the summer, a time when the sun never sets.
