Donations fund personalized holiday gifts for children with cancer and their families
The Issue: Hospitalization During the Holidays
During the holidays, the strain on families with hospitalized children can grow especially onerous. Due to the necessity of staying close to their child, parents have little time to shop for gifts or plan a celebration. What's more, the enormous financial burden of hospital bills can limit options or even rule out holiday celebrations altogether.
The Campaign: Funding Holiday Gifts for Youth with Cancer
If 30 people donate $10, then Jeremy Cares, Inc., can provide holiday gifts to 12 children who are patients at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Each additional $25 raised will fund a holiday gift for another hospitalized child or sibling of a hospitalized child. Each year, the hospital supplies Jeremy Cares, Inc., with a list of pediatric cancer patients that includes their genders, ages, special interests, and whether they have siblings. Volunteers then shop for and wrap holiday gifts for each person on the list. They distribute the gifts at the hospital on December 23.

About Jeremy Cares, Inc.
Jeremy Cares, Inc., was founded in 2011 by the family of Jeremy George, a cancer survivor who underwent a stem-cell transplant at age 17. The organization aims to enrich the lives of children dealing with serious illnesses and aid their families during a difficult time. It runs a variety of programs to help diminish stress levels and create positive experiences for these families.
