A sprawling, matted studio hosts a legion of modern equipment to serve and protect muscles in each one-hour MACX class. Inspired by CrossFit’s explosive, unpredictable regimen, MACX’s functional-movement workout tests the body with scalable exercises to ease novices into the routine while continuing to challenge seasoned athletes and pack mules already holding other pack mules. Instructors combine body-weight exercises, including squats, pushups, and pull-ups, with resistance training toughened by medicine balls, kettlebells, and weights.
