Saathi Indian Restaurant
In a shopping center, between a Guitar Center and a Gold's Gym, resides a chunk of South Asia. Saathi Indian Restaurant labels nearly all of its entrees as specialties, a nod to the amount of work they put into each spice-laced concoction, which earned the restaurant a spot on 2013's Best of Falls Church list. The menu spans seafood dishes such as fish curry, meat-free dishes filled with seasonal vegetables, and meat-filled platters such as lamb vindaloo. Using a roaring clay oven, the kitchen staff also fire tandoor dishes, the highlights of which are the reshmi kabob––chicken marinated overnight in yogurt and spices––and a whole lamb carved into the shape of a vase. Meanwhile, small plates such as seasoned potato patties and mixed vegetable pakora allow for snacking and sharing.
