Gauchos are the Illuminati of the culinary world, secretly conspiring to overthrow hunger in a rare, medium, and well-done coup de buffet. Join the covert gastronomes and conquer your stomach’s rumblings with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of rodízio-style fare at Samba Brazilian Grill.

Samba’s two-course dining features numerous salad/appetizer bar choices, as well as unlimited grilled meats from the table-side meat carvers. The two-course dinner costs $34.95 per person, whereas veggie-centric folk and smaller stomachs can nosh at the salad display for $17.95. Like Madison weather, the meats change regularly, but often feature a beef such as tenderloin with sake soy marinade, porkables including the intricately flavored spicy linguiça pork sausage, delicious chicken snacks, and the baaaharat leg of lamb. Stretch out the legs and head for the salad bar, which showcases future stomach fuel including multiple salads, fresh vegetables, cheeses, olives, pickled savories, and plenty of mashed and bean-centric sides.

Samba is a posh nosh spot drenched in historical elegance. Formerly the Woman’s Club of Madison, the building was built in 1907 and is a local landmark with modern renovations. The second-floor restaurant possesses a darkly lit interior with rich dark woods throughout and live music four nights a week. Gaucho service is constant, which means the only thing separating you from succulent meat is a red pillar. So turn that sucker to green and get after it.

Eighty-eight percent of more than 300 Urbanspooners like Samba Brazilian Grill. Though some reviewers mention high prices, many are pleased with the all-you-can-eat portions. Yelpers give it an average of four stars, and TripAdvisors award it an average of four owl eyes:

  • Good wine and a meat feast. I even stopped by the salad bar beacuse [sic] it was so nicely put together. You must be a true canivore [sic] though to like this place. – BBQ Madness, Urbanspoon
  • The environment of Samba Grill is absolutely delighting. From the decor, to the live brazillian [sic] music artists, to the gauchos and the elegant fresh food display/salad bar. – kelleysezwoh, TripAdvisor

Samba Brazilian Grill

Located on the second floor of the former Woman’s Club of Madison building, Samba Brazilian Grill bursts at the seams with history and a generous salad-bar buffet and rodizio-style meats, carved tableside. The meat selection changes regularly but often features a beef such as tenderloin with sake-soy marinade, porkables including the intricately flavored spicy linguiça pork sausage, delicious chicken snacks, and the baharat leg of lamb. A waiter brings the protein-heavy entrees to the table intact before slicing away right before your eyes, expertly dropping steaming pieces onto plates and tucking napkins into shirts. The salad bar stocks its surfaces with multiple salads, fresh vegetables, cheeses, olives, pickled savories, and plenty of mashed- and bean-centric sides. The eatery possesses a darkly lit interior with rich, dark woods throughout.

Customer Reviews

Friendly service, nice ambience, reasonably priced brunch, outstanding brownies baked by their own pastry chef for dessert

Always a treat! Delicious food!

Grilled pineapple was delicious. Sides could be a bit better, maybe more hot dishes. Also pricey/person but the groupon helped. All the meat was great.
