We had to reschedule this as the first time we signed up for Belmont Binge there weren't enough participants and it was cancelled. The rescheduling went well and the parties involved were good to honor the Groupon with the reschedule. They were also very good with communicating with me about it. The tour itself was great! Our guide was awesome! All the food was delicious!

Although the tour was less creepy and "ghostly" than I was expecting, it was still an interesting and informational tour around some of Chicago's historical tragedies and my daughter and I enjoyed our tour very much! The only problem we had was feeling certain that we found the exact meeting place prior to the tour. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that our tour guide noticed we were not a part of the group that was meeting for the tour, and he gave me a quick phone call to confirm we were still planning to attend the tour! That certainly made up for our frustrations finding our meeting place! I also noticed that our guide was also very conscious of the safety and whereabouts of all of his guests on the tour! Kudos to our tour guide on a job well done!!

Amanya is a terrible tour guide. The information was OK, but constantly interrupted by a verbal tick (if "and whatnot" can be considered a verbal tick). Maybe the other guides are better?

I had to keep rescheduling the tour (it was canceled twice a day before) because they did not have enough people. If you are buying a tour, make sure you buy it around the holidays when they will have plenty of other people doing it. Call ahead, they're nice.

Pretty lame but a nice walk. Got my steps in but did not learn much. Would not seriously recommend this tour.

About Second City Tours

Some cities are known for mostly one thing. Chicago for its deep-dish pizza. New Orleans for its gumbo. San Francisco for its Ghirardelli chocolate. But the Windy City, the Big Easy, and the Golden Gate City have so much more to offer visitors searching for great food. That's where Second City Tours comes in. Its guides lead out-of-towners and locals alike to both popular eateries and hidden gems on food tours.

The Chicago walking tours include the Pizza Parade, the Beer and Bacon tour, and the Chicago Food Crawl, which includes stops at two local icons—Portillo's for a Chicago-style hot dog and Al's for an italian-beef sandwich. Most tours take place around the trendy River North neighborhood, though some, such as the Belmont Food Binge, explore other neighborhoods. In New Orleans, tour goers cruise around the historic French Quarter neighborhood snacking on po boys, gumbo, Central Grocery's famous muffaletta, and beignets at Cafe Du Monde, and in San Francisco visitors sample sourdough bread and gourmet chocolates throughout the hilly burg.
